Dec 16, 2025This might be filed more under "oddities", but from time to time Alf enjoys writing some quirkier things such as this piece on how leadership and management has been presented in the field of pro wrestling. It can serve both as a study of how popular culture can be studied for novel perspectives on leadership and management, but also as a wild case study of how the CEO role can be performed (and by performed we really mean performed). Focusing on the strange case of how the CEO/owner of WWE became a wrestler himself, and the insane twists and turns this performance took, it's probably the only leadership paper ever that discusses both ballyhoo, kayfabe, playacting a manager, and literal ass-kissing.
